Mr. R. G. Taiboys (Citizens) also retained his seat, the two new members being Mr. J. C. Batt (Labour) and Mrs. A. K. Maclean (Citizens). Two other women who contested seats on the board, Mrs. K. During its past term the board had four members representing Wanganui City, but the number of seats was increased to five, following an adjustment made by the Department of Health, The Labour Party will have three votes on the newly-elected board, against 10 not bound by party ties. The championship will be decided at the firjf meeting. If Mr. Broderick, the present chairman, does not stand, because of his health, it is probable that Mr. D. D. Simpson, one of the Rangitikei County representatives, will be nominated. Four Rangitikei County representatives were re-elected on Saturday and so was Mr. T. C. Kincaid, who will represent the combined boroughs of Marton and Taihape. Mr. L. Nation (Raebihi), who was elected to the combined boroughs of Raetihi and Ohakune and the Waimarino County, succeeds Mr. J. A. Morton, who did not seek re-election.
