CAR AND LORRY COLLIDE
FARMER AND WIFE INJURED When a lorry pwned by the Fordell Timber and Case Co., Ltd., and a motor-car collided on the main road near the Wangaehu railway crossing shortly before seven o’clock last evening, Mr. James Craig, farmer, Wangaehu, and his wife, only occupants of the car, were injured. Mr. Craig received a dislocated hip and his wife a. fracture left arm. They were attended by Dr. G. H. Robertson and brought to a private hospital in Wanganui by the St. John Free Ambulance. The accident occurred at the foot of the Wangaehu Hill and about 15 yards on the Wanganui side of the crossing. The car, which was completely wrecked on the driver’s side, was travelling in the direction of Wangaehu. The force of the impact caused the lorry, travelling toward Wanganui, to slew round ana go over a bank with a drop of about five feet. The driver was uninjured. At the time of the accident, the lorry, which was also dajnaged, was travelling empty.
