DEATH OF DR. J. H. REID
PROMINENT PHYSICIAN
Dr. James Harper Reid, one of lhe oldest medical practitioners in Wanganui, died on Tuesday in his 73th. year. He was born in New Zealand, was educated at the Otago Boys’ High School, and graduated from the maaical school of Otago University. His first year's in practice were spent on the West Coast in the South Island, and later he travelled extensively in England and on the Continent. Coming to Wanganui about 1901, Dr. Reid began practice in Wicksteed Street and became a well-known figure in the town and suburbs. For many years he was on the honorary staff of the Wanganui Public Hospital. He had been retired for some years. Dr. Reid is survived by his wile and one son.
