READY FOR ACTION

FORMER FRENCH BATTLESHIP RICHLIEU »

Reed. 6 p.m. London, Nov. 19. The French battleship Richlieu armed with secret guns and equipment, is again on the high seas ready tor action, says Reuter’s Algiers correspondent. The Richlieu, which was damaged by the British attack on Dakar, was patched up and sent to New York last February, where she was recommissioned. General Giraud and Admiral Sir John Cunningham inspected the Richlieu in Algiers harbour before the battleship’s departure for secret waters. She was so cunningly camouflaged that her immensely long, sleek shape was difficult to discern from 300 yards. The Richlieu's crew includes a number of Frenchmen transferred to America and specially trained to lire her new armament.
