Captain R. Wardell. New Zealand Temporary Staff, has been appointed to the staff ol’ the Governor-General as aide de camp, says a notice ip the Gazette.
Mr. John William Bourke, whose death occurred in Wanganui on Monday, was well known in Patea and district for many years. In his younger days- he was a prominent footballer and also had a fine record in athletics. Up to his last illness he was one of the best bowlers in the Taranaki district. He is survived by his wife, one son, Lieut. Kevin Bourke (overseas) and one daughter, Mrs. Lorna Hurley, of Kakaramea.
