JUBILEE HOME BLOCKS
WITH NEW FITTINGS. Joiners were well ahead with the work of attaching fittings in the new blocks of wards under construction al. the Jubilee Home, Aramoho, reported the architect, Mr. C. N. Hood, at a meeting of th Wanganui Hospital Board yesterday. Painters were also progressing favourably with the interior decorating.
Some delay had occurred in the arrival of sanitary fittings because of the complete failure of one of the manufacturer’s kilns. It had been possible to substitute some of the fittings from stocks of English manufacture held in New Zealand. The architect added that excellent progress had been made with the water tower, nearing completion, and the underground tank. Work was proceeding slowly with the new engineering services at the Jubilee Home, reported Ihe engineer, Mr. F. M. Smith. Boilers and smoke stacks had been placed in position and I at present bricklayers were brickingj in the boilers
