AMERICAN PLANES
MOST FORMIDABLY ARMED Recd. 11 p.m. Washington. Nov. 16. Recent fire-power developments have made American fighting planes the most formidable armed aircraft in lhe skies, said Frank Wolfe, Chief of the Army Air Force's Material Command. Writing in the official A.E.F. journal Air Force. He added: “We are literally designing guns and putting wings on them. The* gunners of our bombers are now using computing sights which force enemy fighters to remain at a range from which their fire-nower is ineffective.”
