DAYLIGHT SAVING

REJECTED BY N.S.W. MINERS Recd. 6 p.m. Sydney, Oct. 2. Claiming that daylight saving prevents them from getting proper sleep in hot weather, the members of four lodges on the northern coalfields of New South Wales have decided to start work “by the sun” and not “by the clock.” The Prime Minister. Mr. J. Curtin, has warned the miners that daylight saving, which starts at 2 a.m. tomorrow, is law and must not be defied. Complete disorganisation will result unless the miners attend for work under daylight-saving time.
