WANGANUI CRICKET
MARIST CLUB MEETING In spite of difficulties the club had a successful season, states the report of the Marist Cricket Club presented at the annual meeting. While the senior team was not so fortunate as the junior side, which won the Junior Cup, the senior eleven gave a good account of itself. The report, refers to the fine spirit of cooperation existing between all clubs and congratulates them on their performances. It also pays tribute to the fine standard attained by the club’s junior team. Trophies for the season were awarded as follows:—Muzio Cup, J. Hodson; McEntee Cup, C. Crafar; Moran Cup, N. Wallace; Koorey Cup, D. Cresswell; Garney Spooner Trophy, A. Stapleton; Green Trophy, L. Koorey. The election of officers resulted,— Patron, Rev. Father M. Bourke; president, Mr. E. Manley; vice-presi-dents, Rev. Marist Fathers, Rev. Marist Brothers. Messrs. G. Spooner, J. Muzio, T. Moran, H. Koorey, G. Hawkins, Mesdames W. Sunborn, T. Ryan; chairman of committee, Mr. L. Koorey; honorary secretary. Mr. C. Gaylard; hon. treasurer, M. D. Cresswell; club captain, Mr. E. Rhodes: honorary auditor, Mr. R. B. Benefield; honorary solicitor, Mr. C. Treadwell; management committee, Messrs. J. Hodson, J. Timbs, A. Stapleton, A. Riddell. Bro. Harold, W. Walls; delegates to annual meeting of the Wanganui Cricket Association, Mr. C. Gaylard and Mr. D. Cresswell; delegate to W.C.A. executive, Mr. C. Gaylard: selection committee, Mr. A. Stapleton and Mr. S. Crafar; gear committee, Messrs. A. Stapleton, J. Hodson, E. Rhodes.
