LIVESTOCK MARKETS
BULLS SALE Dalgety and Company, Limited (Inc. in England) report on the usual fortnightly sale held on Monday last when a go»d yarding of sheep and cattle, mainly yearling Jersey heifers and a medium yarding of store pigs were submitted to a good attendance cf buyers. A line of 180 ewes and 166 lambs realised 14s lOd. Fat sheep were in keen demand at prices fully firm on recent sales. Only a few’ head of fat cattle were yarded, realisations showing a further improvement on the previous sale. Buyers operated freely on the weaner Jersey heifers and an excellent sale resulted with a total clearance. The top heifers realised £6 Ils with several other lots selling from £4 5s to £5 16s. Dairy cows and heifers also sold readily at late rates. Store pigs sold to a good enquiry with values unchanged. Quotations. —Ewes and lambs 14k lOd all counter; fat ewes 15s, 17s, 245, 26s 6d; fat wethers 325, 37s 6d, 38s; fat hoggets 28s 3d, 31s 9d; weaner pigs 2Ls to 295; stores 38s to 49>X fat cows ex dairy £4 7s 6d to £9; store cows £2 to £3 10s; weaner Jersey heifers £4 ss, £4 10s, £5. £5 Ils, £5 16s, £6 Ils; dairy cows and heifers £5 10s, £7 10s, £9. £lO.
