BOARD OF GOVERNORS MEET According to the report ot Miss M. E. Baker, lady principal, presented at the monthly meeting of the Board of Governors of the Wanganui Girls' College yesterday, the number of boarders in residence is 119. The school roll totals 357.' Last week Mrs. Barron, of the Wellington Vocational Guidance Centre, addressed the staff, and later a group of senior girls. Mrs. Chesswas, president of the W.C.T.U., addressed the girls on the history of women's enfranchisement in New Zealand. About 50 girls attended the meeting held to celebrate the golden jubilee of the winning of the franchise. Miss E. Stephens, principal of the Palmerston North Giris' High School, was the guest of the college for two days last week. She held discussions with the staff and those of other secondary schools, on suggested changes in secondary education. On Friday the school St. John’s Cadet Division, gave an entertainment in the hall to raise funds for equipment, thereby making £4. The term dates for next year are: First term, from Tuesday, February 1, to Thursday, May 4; second term, from Tuesday, May 23, to Thursday. August 17; third and final term of the year, from Tuesday, Sentember 12, to Thursday, December 14. Those present at the meeting were: Mr. G. S. Gordon (chairman), Mesdames J. C. Wickham and E. M. Scott; Messrs. J. C. Batt, E. F. Hemingway, and Hon. W. J. Rogers.
