SPANIARD CHARGED
ALLEGED INTENT TO AID AXIS Recd. 6 p.m. London, Aug. 26. A Spaniard, Luis Lopez Cuenca, aged 22, was arrested in time to prevent a devastating act of sabotage, declared the Attorney-General, who prosecuted, when Cuenca appeared before the Supreme Court at. Gibraltar on a charge of acting with intent to assist the enemy and of having in his possession a bomb for the purpose of causing an explosion in the Gibraltar dockyard. The Attorney-General added that the Spanish authorities had arrested two others with whom Cuenca had been associated. Cuenca was arrested as a result of the courage of dockyard workers and the vigilance of security police. The prosecution contended that Cuenca was guilty of a series of acts which constituted treachery. The remainder of the case is being heard in camera.
