PRISONERS OF WAR
NEW ZEALANDERS IN ITALY Recd. 6 p.m London,, Aug. 24. No confirmation has been received in London as to whether any of the 3800 New Zealand prisoners of war in Italy are being transferred to Germany. The majority of the New Zealanders >are in camps in northern 1/aiy which are more or less under German control. Indicating that cigarettes are reaching camps m Germany in satisfactory quantities, one civilian has written suggesting tnat the supply to his camp should be reduced, and stating that there were su many cigarettes available that he was asnamed to take anymore.
