BRITISH BY-ELECTION
Recd. 7 p.m. Rugby, Aug. 25. The National Government just held the Chippenham Division, where a byelection took place yesterday as a result of the death of Colonel Cazalet in the flying accident which cost General Sikorski his life. Mr. David Eccles (Conservative) polled 8310 votes, against Captain Donald Johnson (Liberal Independent) 8115. In the 1935 General Election Colonel Cazalet had a majority of 5421. Fortyfour per c'nt. of the electors of the old register voted.—B.O.W,
