RESCUE FROM NAZIS ASKED Reed. 6 p.m. London, ziug. 24. The United Nations radio at Algiers has called oq the Italian people to do everything possible to prevent their lice* falling into German hands. The radio pointed out what the Germans had done already, taking Italian produce and using Italian ’man-power, and said: “You still hold a great national asset—the Italian fleet. Italians, if the Italian fleet were to fall into German hands, the war would be prolonged for you." The radio referred to the maritime spirit of the Italian nation, and stressed this as being necessary for its traffic and commerce in the postwar world. It said: “Your duty to Italy and to yourselves is clear: Hinder the Germans in any way possible."
