APPLICATIONS INVITED
FOR TRAINING COLLEGE. Advice that applications may be invited for admission to the Teachers’ Training College for 1944 has been received by the Wanganui Education Board. The closing date is October 1. In view of the shortage of candidates, it was stated that applications could also be invited from those who have not yet ths required educational qualifications, but are sitting this year for the School Certificate or University Entrance examinations. The department has also stated that it has been decided to admit a further 20 students to the home science course on the same conditions as last year. The board has appointed the chair, man, Mr. E. F. Hemingway, Mr. P. Munro, deputy chairman, and the senior inspector, Mr. B. N. T. Elake, to the selective committee which interviews training college applicants.
