AUSTRALIA AND THE FUTURE
London, March 14. The Australian Minister of External Affairs, Dr. H. V. Evatt, said in a broadcast to-night that the Commonwealth wanted to play its part in building up an international order in which aggression will be curbed and the people of the world given freedom from want. He said that, as a British nation. Australia maintained and always would preserve a very close link with Britain, but that, at the moment, as one of the United Nations, she had a special responsibility nearer her own shores. That was to remove the Japanese threat and guard against the dangers of under-estimating Japan’s strength.
