J.P. MORGAN DEAD

GREAT U.S. FINANCIER Recd. 9 p.m. New York. March 13. The death is announced of Mr. J. P. Morgan, who collapsed during a fishing holiday in Florida last month. The United Press says: “Mr. Morgan's death in many ways marked the end of an era. It certainly appearunlikely that a private individual will ever again control enough wealth to influence the financial structure of nations. While Mr. Morgan was an international power he was one of the most obscure men in Americrii history.”

Mr. J. Pierpont Morgan, son of the better-known American financier of last century and Great War fame, was born in 1857, and was educated at Harvard University. He was head of the firm of J. P. Morgan and Co., and until 1932 was chairman of the U.S. Steel Corporation.
