FORMS TO BE COMPLETED As a move towards the placing of suitable men in essential industries, should the Government decide to reduce the defence forces, officers and men are at present being asked to fill in a questionnaire form which has been circulated to all army establishments. Apparently prepared by the National Service Department, the circular requires all info, .-nation relating to the individual’s identity, rank and service, and a description of his duties in the army. His home address, whether he is married or single, and the number of children he has under the age of 16 years are also required. After a question as to whether the man has any special reason, if returned to civilian life, for being unable to undertake essential work away from his dependents, he is asked to state it he is prepared to volunteer to work on a civilian basis in one or more ot industries such as farming, flax-cut-ting and milling, tanning, sawmilling, logging, box-making, engineering and ship-repairing, coal-mining, or in wcollen mills. He is also asked if he is prepared to volunteer for transfer to the air force for either ground or flying service. On tlie reverse side of the form, the mar. is to state particulars of his normal civilian occupation, his experience, education, and occupations in wnich he has had training and experience. Particulars of past employment are required, as well as a statement of experience of farm work of any type.
