OPERATIONS IN BURMA
JAPANESE AERODROMES BOMBED (Recd. 11.50 p.m.) Rugby, Dec. 29. A joint communique irom India states: Yesterday afternoon R.A.F. Blenheims, escorted by lighters, bombed the Japanese aerodrome at Monywa, on the Chindwin River. In addition to hits on runways several bursts were observed in the dispersal area. No enemy aircraft were encountered. Other fighters carried out offensive patrols in the Mayu River districts. Last night Oungoo aerodrome, central Burma, was attacked and bombs were dropped shortly after midnight. ’ Bursts were seen in th' target area I but detailed results could not be observed. From daylight operations two of our planes are missing.—8.0.W.
