NO AUSTRALIANS ON SUNKEN SHIP
(Recd. 7 p.m.) Chungking, Dec. 29. The Associated Press says that special inquiries among survivors established that there were definitely no Australians on board the torpedoed Japanese prison-ship. Confusion over this is probably due to a Tokio radio reference to Australians when the sinking was first announced. A survivor said there were no Australians at Samshuipo camp, where he and his companions were interned.
