WOMEN CHAMPIONS
WANGANUI EAST BOWLING CLUB A social gathering to mark the close of the season was held by wrttnen bowlers of the Wanganui East. Bowling Club recently, in presenting the ; trophies won uuring the year the president, Mrs. G. P. Hawkins, congratulated the winners upon their success and expressed the hope that members would enjoy many more years together on the Wanganui East bowling green. To the many friends of the club who were present she extended a hearty welcome and hoped to rene'A the acquaintances on the bowling green next season. The outstanding player of the past season was Mrs. M. Dempster, who. besides winning the championship singles, was successful in annexing the Dempsey Cup and the handicap singles. Mrs. A. C. Dempsey was the winner of the B singles. A bright musical programme included solos by Mr, J. McDougall and Mr.
A. Little, and elocution items by Miss B. Hawkins and Mrs. Puck. Competitions were also held during the evening.
