WAVERLEY NOTES
KOHI WOMEN'S INSTITUTE A very enjoyable afternoon was spent in the Kohl Hall, when members of the Women's Institute entertained many friends. The usual monthly meeting was combined with the tenth birthday party. Mrs. R. W. H. Oliver extended a welcome to all visitors. A motion of sympathy was passed to the relatives of the late Mrs. C. Oliver. The afternoon was spent with several amusing competitions, and the younger pupils of the school acted “The Three Bears.” Miss Margaret Kelly entertained with two vocal solos. "Beneath the Lights of Home” and "She Shall Have Music. ’ The senior cooking competition was won by Mrs. Morrison 1.1 Mrs. Tarrant 2. Mrs. Lennox 3. Juniors: Miss V. Gulliver 1, Miss M. Morrison 2, Miss D. Hughes 3. Other comoetition winners were Miss Clinch. Mrs. Fraser and Mrs. R. Oliver. The soldier’s parcel this month goes to Private B. Young. The trading table did good business. A delicious afternoon tea. including a slice of birthday cake, was served by the members. Next month's competitions are: Seniors, three varieties of jam: juniors, an article made from a :ugar bag.
