WAR SUPPLIES
STOPPAGE OF ROUTE TO FINLAND RESULT OF ROSTOCK RAIDS (Recd. 7.5 p.m.) Rugby, May 17. Information received in London suggests that there has been a complete stoppage of all war supplies which previously went by train ferry to Denmark, thence to Norway ano Finland. This was the result of the R.A.F. bombing of Rostock. Thorough examination of aerial photographs makes it easy to understand why the supplies were interrupted. At one end of the town there was a large area covered by warehouses and storage sheds which are entirely destroyed. There was also damage on the quayside, north of the old town, while buildings in the goods base are burnt out. Railway tracks were damaged in many places—B.O.W.
