FAMOUS BASSO ARRESTED New’ York. March 13. The Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested the Italian Ezio Pinza, the prominent basso of the Metropolitan Opera, who was scheduled to I sing to-morrow in the role of Mephisto in “Faust.” under the direction of Sir Thomas Beecham. The Herald-Tribune learns that the reason for the arrest, which ha. 3 caused a sensation, that Pinza has freely boasted of his*ntimate friendshin with Mussolini. Pinza has been under surveillance for a considerable time.
