SMOKE AS A WEAPON
AMERICAN USE AGAINST TANKS Washington, March 12. The United States Chemical Warfare Service reported successful experiments with smoke screens which delayed an entire motorised regiment for an hour and a-half. Anti-tank units have been quick to adopt smoke as a means of slowing up and causing loss of direction, paralysing tank movement temporarily. * Whenever desired, the smoke can be lifted to provide a better target. The tanks arc then silhouetted against a background of smoke.
