SUTCLIFFE SCHOOL OF RADIANT LIVING
PHYSICAL EXERCISES DEMONSTRATION On Tuesday evening a large number of members and visitors attended a display of physical exercises given by the Sutcliffe School of Radiant Living class. The programme was given with the object of showing how the class keeps fit. Although some of the exercises appeared to be strenuous, it was explained that they were scientifically worked out for a specific purpose of correcting tendencies for ailments which beset mankind and for renewing vigour and organic functioning powers. Behind the rhythm and motions is a purpose for curing ailments, and behind the physical body is a mind power, making for harmony. By vitalising the organs the voluntary muscles are vitalised thus bringing about a better condition of health. Exercises which looked strenuous were really to make one fit and they were not tiring, in fact they were exercises to prevent one getting tired. Various exercises were demonstrated. First the audience was shown exercises to strengthen the ankle and legs, the hips, for keeping the body supple, stretching and balancing for lifting up the organs, for tired feet and varicose veins, to benefit the spine, followed by demonstrations of exercises for correcting ailments, al! with strict attention to breathing making a perfect rhythm. One or two members gave some difficult exercises with ease.
