Pupils Entertained. On Monday afternoon the committee of the Sacred Heart Old GirlsAssociation entertained to afternoon tea at the D.LC. those pupils who are leaving the convent this year. This function, inaugurated only last year, is now eagerly awaited by the girls, who are thus given, in a most pleasurable manner, an opportunity or meeting the committee and hearing about the 5.H.C.0.G.A.. of which they are themselves so soon to become members. lionrille Red (Toss. The final meeting for the year of the Gonville sub-Centre of the Rec Cross was held on Monday afternoon, when Mrs. J. C. Batt (president) thanked all who had helped during the year, specially mentioning the Bridge Circle for the donation of £37 and the Friendly Circle, which had donated £B3 19s for the year. St. -John Ambulance, Aramoho Division. The final meeting for the year of the St. John Ambulance Aramoho Division was held on Monday night at the Druids' Hall, Aramoho. All members of the division were present. Five competitions based on the first-aid syllabus were enjoyed and small prizes awarded to the winners. During the evening certificates were presented to the following, who were successful in passing the home nursing examination lately given by Dr. Mollie Christie: Mrs. Adams, Mrs. Aiken. Mrs. A. The Wanganui sub-Centre of the Red Cross Society V.A.W. Committee entertained the V.A. workers at a delightful social afternoon yesterdayin the Red Cross rooms, which were brightly Secorated with roses for the occasion. The president, Mrs. J. McDougal. welcomed those present and paid a tribute to the workers, thanking them for the work they had accomplished during the year. She told the committee that they may have to come back to work sooner tlban expected. Mrs. McDougal presented members of the committee and each worker with a posy. The president was the recipient of a posy of sunset pink carnations and maidenhair fern. Enjoyable items given included pianoforte duets by Mesdames V. Wilson and W. G. Cooper, vocal by Mesdames Wilson. Corliss and Miss Missen, the latter also contributing violin solos. Afternoon tea was served, a large bowl of pink roses centering the large table. Community singing was led by Mrs. Wilson and carols were sung. Mrs. D. G. Cooper was accompanist.
