WANGANUI MALE CHOIR
ANNUAL MEETING HELD New officers were elected at the | forty-third annual meeting of the Wanganui Male Choir, which was held lin the Savage Club Hall on Tuesday ! night. Mr. S. Kendall presided over a i large attendance. The annual report was adopted, anu the treasurer, Mr. C. A. Pearey, submitted the balance-sheet, which showed the society to be in a finacial position. Officers elected were: President, Mr. S. Kendall; vice-president, Mr. E. Grant; conductor, Mr. F. Wentworth Stater, deputy-conductoi, Mr. 3. Brown; pianist, Mrs. Freda Cunningham; secretary, Mr. W. F. Hanton; treasurer, Mr. C. A. Pearey; librarian, Mr. J. Brass; committee, Messrs. W. Healey, E. Christie, Bailey-Martin, J. Drake, F. Emmett, G. Gilberd, and the Rev. N. Williams. As many members have joined the National Military Reserve and Home Guard, it was decided that weekly practices be held on Mondays, and that the first practice for the season be held next Monday. Thanks was accorded to all who had assisted the choir during the year, especially to Messrs. J. Brass and W. Healey, and to Mi. and Mrs. Warwick, former caretakers.
