FRENCH MERCHANTMEN
CARGOES FOR ARGENTINE Received Jan. 12, 7.30 p.m. LONDON, Jan. 11 The Daily Telegraph states that no application was made in London or Buenos Aires for navicerts tot five French merchantmen bound from the River Plate to Marseilles, carrying Argentine and Uruguayap hides wools, foodstuffs and mails. British naval patrols are expected to intercept the ships and declare the cargoes a war prize. The ships are believed to have been sailing under German pressure.
