WANGANUI’S UNBEATEN REP TEAM MEMORABLE TOUR IN 1904 In 1904 a Wanganui Rugby representative side toured the South Island with an unbeaten record. The feat was recalled at last night's meeting of the Wanganui Rugby Union’s Management Committee, when a photograph of the team was presented to the union by Mrs. Gordon Thompson, wife of the late Mr. Thompson, who was a member of the side. The result of the matches of the tour were: v. Canterbury, won ’> s—nil; v. Southland, won B—nil; v. Otago, won 5—4; v. North Otago, won 17 nil; v. South Canterbury, won 5 —nil. The team comprised Messrs. C. D. Butler (captain), A. H. E. Wall (vicecaptain), G. Thompson, T. Bell, A. J. Guscott, G. Holland, R. Hammerton. A. S. C. Anderson, R. Mitchell, C. F. Rockel. P.
