RUGBY FOOTBALL (Own Correspondent). Last week-end at the Raetihi Recreation Ground, Ohakune defeated Raetihi by five points to three. Foi Ohakune Duigan scored and Climo converted. For Raetihi Gribbin crossed the line. Mitchinson’s kick at goal failed. The following are fixtures for the following two Saturdays: Saturday, August 3 Seniors Karioi v. Saturday, August 10 Representative Game Taumarunui v. Ruapehu, at Ohakune, 2.30 p.m.; referee, Mr. M. Friedlander. Curtain Raiser Taumarunui High School v. Ohakune High School, 1.15 p.m.; referee, Mr. S. Thomas. WAIMARINO GOLF CLUB The following are some of the important results to date:— Senior Championship. Huddleston beat Attrill, 1 up on the 20th.; Strange beat Turner, 4 and 3; Jones beat Gould, 1 up on the 22nd. Intermediate Championship (Gould Cup).—Strachan beat A. E, Urwin, 3 and 2; Blacklock beat Cleland, 1 up. Two recent Stablefords were won by Mrs. H. Windle (36) and K. Huddleston (35) respectively. Huddleston's handicap has been reduced to 11. Players are reminded that the first round of the Gould Cup is to be played off by August 11.
