They deal principally with | incapacity allowances and sick pay, and with payments by members of ilis Majesty’s Forces As from April 1 1940, exemption from the Social Security charge will ) , be granted in the following cases: •1) Incapacity allowances received . from a national provident fund. j * (2) Sick pay from a sick, accident 1 nr death benefit fund. (3) Income derived by trustees in ( trust from such sick, accident or ) 1 i.:a benefit funds Tht regulation dealing with mem-1 : bers of His Majesty's Forces provides) «». His Majesty's forces on whose behalf the social security charge on pay and allowi ances earned by him as a member of I - paid . the Government, that member, wniie he is in rece.pt of such pay and allowances, is I exempt from any instalments of fee, last day for payment of which falls ' due while he is serving and being : paid under those conditions. This re- • j gulation also provides that the mem- { i uers of His Majesty’s Forces shall be exempt irom paying the social security charge upon any sum being income { v» i .?y inem contributed on their) behalf by their employers or former, employers, to any superannuation f fund during the period service with i His Majesty’s Forces. This regulation | is deemed to have come into force on • April 1. 1939. | For the purposes of the regulation ; ‘superannuation fund” means a super»n fund defined in section | II of the Land and Income Tax Act. ... . .. < a national provident fu:r.. A ‘member of His Majesty’s Forces" means a person tary or Air Force, and includes any person, w ho being a national of Zealand. is temporarily absent from. New Zealand for the purpose of serv-1 ing in the Royal Air Force under a , short service commission.
