SCHOOLBOYS’ CRICKET
START TO BE MADE ON SATURDAY APPEAL TO PARENTS AND TEACHERS The Wanganui Cricket Association has made an appeal to parents and teachers to encourage schoolboys to take up the healthy and invigorating pastime of cricket, and a start is to be made on Peat Park on Saturday to form schoolboys’ teams. The whole of the expense is being borne bs' the association, and gear has been purchased to enable three matches to be played at once. Each school is being invited to enter a team. If support for that idea of running thp scheme is fort/joming, it Is believed that keen rivalry will develop among the schools. Boys who want to play cricket are invited to attend irrespective of schools, however, and every endeavour will be made to place them. The matches are to begin at 10 o’clock on Saturday morning. The schools have been circularised and it is hoped the teachers will encourage the scheme.
