AUSTRALIAN ATHLETES
MAY TOUR NEW ZEALAND IN V JTA'I ION ENTEN DE O [ Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Dec. 5. By live votes to four the Council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, at the monthly meeting to-night, decided to invite a team ot eight Australian athletes to visit the Dominion in the New Year, possibly during the first three weeks of February. The effect of war conditions on sport generally was discussed, and it was decided that the tour would be cancelled it circumstances made such a course necessary. It was proposed that, alter taking part in the Centennial meeting in Wellington, four of the Australian athletes would tour the North Island while the remainder visited the South Island centres. The itinerary of the tour and the details of events are to be arranged by a sub-committee appointed to-night.
