NEW BUILDINGS WANTED
COURT HOUSE AND POLICE STATION REQUEST TO GOVERNMENT. On the suggestion ot Mr. A. S. Burgess the executive of the Wanganui Chamber of Commerce last night decided to renew representations to the Government for the provision of a new Police Station and Court House in Wanganui. Mr. Burgess said that it had taken a long time to secure a new Post Ofti' e and the time was now opportune to make representations for a new Court House and Police Station, the present buildings being out ot date. Three or four years ago the Hon. R. Semple, Minister of Public Works, had declared that the Police Station was a disgrace to any town. The chamber should pursue the matter with the same vigour and enthusiasm which it displayed when it was advocating a new Post Office.
Mr. Burgess suggested that. th< chamber should seek Ihe co-operation ot the Wanganui Law Society.
