ANNUAL SOCIAL MEMBERS FA RE WELLED. The “Christ Church” 3ru. Wanganui Girl Guide Company’s annual function for parents and friends was held last j Friday evening, and was attended by | a number of parents, committee mem- | bers, special friends who had helped !t he company in various ways, i Brownies from the Pack who are nearly ready to be guides, and their; mothers. On arrival at the hall the’ visitors were welcomed by two ol the Guides and everyone was put into a patrol for the evening, the patrol Headers and patrol seconds being in jcharge of these groups. I An introducing game “bro.ie the lice,” after which a very friendly feeling was in evidence throughout th-., 'evening. A three-act playette, “Guides to the Rescue,” produced by Dawn Palliser, (senior patrol leader) was a very creditable item, those taking part showing some ol the things Guides learn to do in cases of emergency. “Health First," an item illustrating the different rules of I health, and how they should be kept Ito ensure tit and healthy persons, was I given by a number of guides. The | programme also included gamr. s , com- ' peitions, a Swedish singing game, htems by M. and L. Upton (ChristI church) with ukelele and guitar ac;companimer.l, and some impromptu 1 miming. The last, mentioned item | caused much enthusiasm, and all jentered into the spirit of acting with i vim.
