Five O'Clock Party Mr. and Mrs. R. Mitchell entertained friends on Friday at a five o’clock party at their home in Somme Parade, in honour of their £bn, Mr. Maurice Mitchell, whose marriage to Miss Jean Kellick takes place to-day. The rooms were bright with flowers, land a delicious repast was served in | buffet style. i Parties for Bride-to-be I Several parties have been given recently for Miss Iris Soeberg, whose 'marriage will take place on Saturday. 'Last Friday afternoon, members of the staff of the Wanganui Jockey Club entertained the bride-to-be at afternoon tea, at which Mesdames S. R. McCallum and E. R. Wills were the hostesses. Miss Soeberg was presented with a crystal cake stand by Mr. McCallum. On Friday night, the Misses Cummins, Castlecliff, were hostesses at a “garden” evening, when many useful things lor use in Ihe garden were brought by the guests. Competitions and musical items were enjoyed. Those present, were Misses Cummins, D. Soeberg, M. Helier, D. Hall, M. Wallace, B. Wallace, V. Craig. R. Evison: Mesdames R. Bond, R. Noble Wilson. On Saturday afternoon, Mrs. !r. Bond, Bell Street, hostessed an on- : joyable “pantry” afternoon in honour [of Miss Soeberg. Everyone had Io 'make up a limerick to bring with their gifts and the prize for the best I was won by Miss Muriel White.
