Mr. George James.—Earl Colossus. | Among the maidens at. the Banks Peninsula mceli.ig to-day is Lady Don, the Roydon filly who won at Geraldine, but was disqualified for being trained by an unlicensed trainer. Lady Don can 'run a smart five furlongs. The Rulanut -Artistry filly (Holland) in H. Mills' stable shaded Barry Boy (Sexton) with Red Myosotis (Ryan) tailed off at. the conclusion of three furlongs in 37 2-ssec., at Hawera on Thursday morning. Although she is not a good actioned youngster, the I first-mentioned .shows a fair amount I nf speed, unites “Goldspur." A year- ! ling half-brother to her by Phalcron i Bay is considered an attractive colt by many who arc now interested after the winning form shown by two of Phalcron Bay's progeny at Trentham. Doth arc related to the Wellington Cup winner, Royal Artist. Enticing is the name claimed for the two-year-old filly by Nightmarch from Entreaty. This was the first occasion that Entreaty was mated with a sire other than Night Raid, to whom she throw the mighty Phar Lap. Supplication might have been a more apipropiiatc name.
