ENLISTMENT OF FARM WORKERS
FARMERS’ UNION CONCERNED [ Ter rte«s Association ] ASHBURTON. Oct. 14. Apprehensive that the enlistment of many farmers and farm workers will seriously affect production in the country, the Mid-Canterbury executive of the Farmers’ Union telegraphed the Premier strongly urging discrimination in enlistments. Mr. Savage replied that every effort was being made to safeguard the position regarding farm production.
