GEOLOGIC SURVEY
AMERICAN EXPEDITION IN PACIFIC NEW YORK. Oct. 13. The American Museum of Natural History and Columbia University arc sponsoring a 400,000 miles Pacific cruise by the three-masted schooner Director II to collect rare birds am geologic specimens and record primitive music from -the Fiji group to New Guinea. The schooner will carry a light plane and wilt leave early in December. The personnel will include Mrs. Bruce Mahnestock, aged 55, widow of a stockbroker, and her two sons who previously were members of another expedition in the Pacific.
