MOSSTON MEETING AND SOU Ac Owing to very inclement wcatlv.. there was onlj a fair attendance at the June meeting of the Mosston I Women's Institute. The president. I Mrs. Franklin, presided, and after the usual opening ceremony, welcomed .hose present. Two members received oirthday gifts and congratulations were extended. One new member was enrolled. Re the International .ianderalt Committee, Mrs. Shaw was isked Io attend to form a committee, i was stated that, the Mosston W.I. is to have the Indian Bay at the exhibition. Much appreciated was the item given by the Singing Circce. -w feature of the meeting was a demonstration of electric cooking. Miss Wadmorc, of the Electric Power Board, demonstrating how economical an eletcric stove can be if rightly used. She cooked a three-course dinner and cake in the oven at one time. I’he use of several electric appliances were also demonstrated, ’rhe competitions were Scones, Miss Kincaid 1, Mrs. Stilborn 2, Mrs. Tipper 3. Bags from old felt hats, Miss Kincaid 1, Mesdames Cameron and Show (equal) 2. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Cameron, Fletcher, Jackson and Miss Cameron. During the month a social evening was held when dancing was enjoyed to music played by Mr. Denman. Mr. Smith ably carried out the duties of M.C. Songs were sung by Miss Glasgow, and Messrs. J. Waters and T. Casey, and a sailor’s hornpipe and tap dance given by Dulcie Ryland. Miss Crothers and Mr. F. Parkes were the winners of the Monte Carlo.
