MONTHLY MEETING HELI) • Own Correspondent). RAETIHI. June 17. 1 The monthly meeting of the Raetihi Domain Board was presided over by Dr. W. J. Feltham. I The Minister of Lands intimated to the board that its application for a grant towards the cost of a washroom was noted and would be considI cred. Received. i The board considered at some [length the question of camp fees j for those who stayed for any length iof time at th? eamp site. Cases | were quoted of persons who could | not get a house making a lengthy ist ay and competing against local I tradespeople. It was considered that • those people had a distinct advantage : over local ratepayers who had borne 'the brunt of the cost of establishing | the camp site. The majority of the | board was of the opinion that this |sort, of thing should be discouraged. ! As a result, of the discussion a motion v.as passed that the camp fee be 1 raised to 17s 6d a week for those who I had completed 14 days’ continuous | residence on the camp site. This re•jlntion is to operate from July 1. I Mr. T. Shout gave notice to rej.cind this motion at the next meeting lof the board. The board also instructed the camp ■ to use his authority in seeing that a few campers did no: monopolise the kitchen. Some campers used the kitehen as a store-room and occupied the available space with their belongings.
