FOOTBALL (Own Correspondent*. OHINGAITI, June 19. On Saturday last the local juniors met and defeated the Bulls fifteen by 1 14 to nil, thereby evening up for the ideicat they suffered when playing the 1 Bulls team at Bulls. The game was hard and fast but Ohingaiti proved superior in all departments. The half-time score was 6 to nil, being a penalty kick by B. Buckley, and a try (unconverted) by J. Potaka. During the second half of the game tncs were scored by G. Wright and H. Scott, the nast-named converting his own. Mr. R. Gordon was referee. BASKETBALL The first basketball match of the season was played on the Ohingaiti I School tennis court on Saturday last, when the local team were visited by a team from the Otara district. An exciting and evenly matched ensued, the final score being ’< goals to 6 in favour of Ohingaiti. At half-time Otara were leading by 4 to 2, but on resumption of play Ohingaiti proved superior, this fact being due perhaps tn :m alteration in tn& placing of the team. The thanks of bath clubs aje due to Miss Lewin, who ably controlled the game.
