At the conclusion of the hunt at “Springrove” on Saturday afternoon, and whilst afternoon tea was being dispensed by Mrs. F. McLean and helpers a very pleasing interlude took place when Mr. H. J. Cameron, field master, made a presentation of a beautiful silver water jug inscribed “From members of the Rangitikei : Hunt Club, June 27, 1939”—the date of Miss Brice’s approaching wedding. In doing so Mr. Cameron disclaimed any pretension of being a public speaker; in fact, he said he was “the most silent dog in the pack.” It. was with sincere regret, he said, that they were losing Miss Brice's services as a member of the hunt as she had set a standard in the hunting field and as a hostess that was hard to excel, was fond of a “flutter” and negotiated obstacles without any sign of wavering. He was sure that Miss Brice would uphold the high traditions of hunting in the Rangitikei district when settled in her new sphere in the Wairarapa. He hoped that the momento from the members would remind her of the many pleasant days that she had spent in the hunting field. In replying. Miss Brice thanked the
