WAVERLEY FOOTBALL CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING. (Own Correspondent.) WAVERLEY, March 21. The annual meeting of the above club was held in the supper-room of the Town Hall on March 13. The attendance was very good and the number present augurs well for a good season. The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and confirmed. The chairman, Mr. E. C. Dallison, read his report, and balance-sheet, which was adopted. Mr. L. Stewart congratulated the committee on its splendid work for the past year. The election of officers took place and the following members were ! elected: —Patron. Mr. A. E. Symes; president, Mr. E. C. Dallison; vicepresidents, Messrs. J. Dunn. R. Bates, P. Fowler, H. Thomas, D. Walker, W. Cunningham, L. Neilson, C. Dickie, J. E. McDonald, A. Elmslie and J. Day; committee, Messrs. T. Wilson, R. Lupton. N. Johnston. G. Blackie, J. Leo, M. Dickie, J. E. McDonald; senior coach, Mr. W. Gaitt; junior coach, Mr. D. McMillan; fourths coach, Mr. L. Stewart.; club captain, Mr. J. E. McDonald: delegates to attend the Metropolitan Rugby Union meeting, Messrs. E. C. Dallison, L. Stewart and T. Wilson: secretary, Mr. D. McMillan; treasurer, Mr. C. Orsman; auditor, Mr. J. C. Gray. Mr. G. Lockett was appointed selector for the Metropolitan Rugby Union. Mr. Moye was appointed nominee for the position of chairman of the Sub-Union. Messrs. T. E. Wilson. I. D. Blackie and E. C. Dallison were appointed nominees for positions on the committee of the Metropolitan Rugby Union. Mr. E. C. Dallison was nominated for the committee of the Wanganui Rugby Union. Dr. Adams was nominated as chairman of the Wanganui Rugby Union. It. was decided to hold practice nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The first practice to be on March 23. The selection of the team was left to the coach with the assistance of the captain of each team. The Waverley and Waitotara clubs were amalgamated. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chairman. New members were Messrs. Gubbins, D. McQueen, D. McMillan, W. Gaitt. ______
