BOWLING AND TENNIS. (Own Correspondent.) WAITOTARA, March 22. The bowling greens and ten ais courts, bein gadjacent to each other, presented a very animated appearance during the week-end. Welcome visitors to Waitotara were a number ot bowlers from the Rapanui Club, who enjoyed themselves thoroughly. There were many tennis players os the courts, the weather being perfect for all outside sport. GOOD FISHING. During the last few weeks many good hauls of fish ihw'e been caught and numbers of fisnermen and picnic parties have spent week-ends at the Waitotara beach, which is becoming very popular. SCHOOL SWIMMING CERTIFICATES. The following are Waitotara school children who have been successful in gaining swimming certificates: — Merit Certificates, 880yds.: Fay Hurley (10 years), Maggie Turmey, Princess Wipa, Joan Handley. Proficiency Certificate, 220yds.: Margaret Mihaka, Rosie Parker, Lorna Thorburn, Rex Teaotonga. Learners’ Certificate, 50yds.: Betty Mihaka, Shirley Handley, Doris Whiri. Beginners’ Certificate, 25yds.: Marjorie Verry, Alison Verry, Marion Fook.
