In reply to Otago’s first innings total of 427, the Auckland Plunket Shield team to-day made 373, the principal contributors being Sale 106, Postles 51, Pearson 49, Weir 36, and Wallace 35. Leader was the most suecesstul Otago bowler, taking six wickets for 44. Otago has no wickets down for 11 runs in the second innings, and appears to be in a strong position for a win on the first innings.
