POLITICAL EXPERIMENT

INTERNATIONAL PEACE AS BRITAIN’S AIM. [ British Official Wireless.] RUGBY, May 24. Mr. Malcolm MacDonald, Secretary of Colonies, speaking to the Empire Press Union Conference, said that we were all. in the Dominions and in Great Britain, becoming gradually conscious that we were engaged in a political experiment of vast importance to many other people besides ourselves. The greatest need of mankind today was for practical internationalising. If peace were ever‘to be established. the free and equal nations of the world had to use methods whixi would enable them to co-operate to fight war and settle their inevitable differences by peaceful means. Inside the British Commonwealth was a miniature league of free and equal nations. If we could make our little league a success, then it might be our proud destiny to show the peoples of the world what was the true path to peace.
