PURCHASED FOR KIA ORA STI D ADVANCE ON WESTMERE ! DISPERSAL PRICE The Chief Ruler mare Happy Returns was sold at auction, at Melbourne, last week, for 450gns., according to advice received in Wanganui. The purchaser was Mr. P. Miller, oi the famed Kia Ora Stud, Scone. New South Wales. Happy Returns had a Phaleron Bay foal at foot. Happy Returns was foaled in 1931, and is a half-sister to Birthday Party, winner of three of the six events which she contested as a juvenile. Their dam is Marion’s Birthday, a mare by Psychology from D’Oro, a sister to famous Desert Gold. At the Westmere Stud dispersal sale in January of last year. Happy Returns was sold at 425gns. to Mr. C. Wheeler, of South Australia.
